2027 Sacco And Vanzetti Centennial: Call for Committee Members and Events

August 2027 will be Sacco and Vanzetti month in Boston, with cultural and political events. Please join us in building toward these centennial events.

If you cannot join us in Boston, we call on you to hold commemorative events in your own cities and towns. These events could include protests, screenings of Sacco and Vanzetti related films, staging of plays, public readings of Sacco and Vanzetti’s letters or other words, and rallies in support of migrant workers and political prisoners. Please send us information about your events and we will help promote them.

Join us for a virtual prisoner letter writing event to commemorate Italian American Anarchists Sacco and Vanzetti on the 99th anniversary of their execution. A short presentation about their lives will be made and we will give guidance on letter writing to current political prisoners.

August 8/30: Sacco and Vanzetti Commemoration Day Rally

Join the Sacco and Vanzetti Commemoration Society, friends and allies to REMEMBER SACCO AND VANZETTI this August 30th.

Meet at 3pm at Parkman Plaza (near the Boston Common visitor center, at Park Street across the street from West Street) to hear speakers bring to life the times and tribulations of Sacco and Vanzetti’s generation, and to highlight the common threads between movements and struggles then and today. We’ll have light food, music, and a marching band for a short march.

Finally Placing Sacco and Vanzetti in the Public Memory of Boston

18/08/2020 - A live video conference presentation, Sat. Aug. 22, 2020 at 7 PM

On the 100th anniversary of the arrest of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, we at The Community Church of Boston, as part of our own One Hundredth Anniversary Celebration, present a commemoration of these two men. We present a panel of scholars and dedicated devotees concerned with keeping alive the public memory of these, our "patron saints". We will feature speakers, musicians, a film clip of the funeral procession, and an excerpt of a film documentary about the case.
